Terms & Conditions

1. GENERAL DEFINITIONS

1.1. In these Terms and Conditions, unless the context otherwise requires:

  • Company” means Made of Wood Ltd;
  • Buyer” means the person or company purchasing the goods from the Company;
  • Products” / “Services” means the products and/or services purchased by the Buyer from the Company.

1.2. By placing an order with the Company, the Buyer accepts these Terms and Conditions in full. Once accepted, these Terms and Conditions are definitive and binding.

2. QUOTES, ORDERS & PRICE

2.1. A binding contract of sale is created only after the Company issues a Sales Order / Proforma Invoice and receives partial or full payment.

2.2. Quotes do not constitute an offer and are based solely on the costs of materials and services listed.

2.3. The price shall be as indicated on the Sales Order / Proforma Invoice.

2.4. The applicable price will be the Company’s current price on the date of delivery.

2.5. Payment terms are of the essence. Prices may include one-off costs (e.g. design, production) determined by the Company.

2.6. The Company reserves the right to amend prices where specifications are altered after the order is confirmed.

2.7. The Company reserves the right to reject any order without providing a reason. In such cases, any payments received will be refunded in full.

3. PRODUCTS & SERVICES

3.1. The quantity and description of the Products are set out in the Sales Order / Proforma Invoice.

3.2. Samples, drawings, specifications and advertising are for approximate guidance only and do not form part of the contract. This is not a sale by sample.

3.3. Each order is treated separately. Due to the natural characteristics of wood, no guarantee can be given that further orders will match previous ones.

3.4. Where fine or special tolerances are required beyond those generally accepted in the trade, no liability will attach to the Company unless agreed in writing at the time of order.

3.5. Product and service availability is correct at the time stated by the Company but cannot be guaranteed unless confirmed with payment.

3.6. All goods and services remain the property of the Company until full payment has been received. The Company reserves the right to recover goods or reverse services where balances remain unpaid, and may recover associated costs (including legal and delivery fees).

3.7. In the case of made-to-order or bespoke products, the Company will use reasonable efforts to match samples provided. However, natural variation in wood means no consistency is implied or guaranteed. Returns, cancellations, or exchanges are not accepted on made-to-order or bespoke products.

4. PAYMENT

4.1. Payments may be made by bank transfer or by any other method agreed in writing between the Buyer and the Company.

4.2. Payment for all goods must be made in advance, along with a deposit against any services (where applicable). Where only services are provided, a deposit must be paid in advance. The balance is due upon completion or before delivery.

4.3. All bespoke or made-to-order products and/or services must be paid in full before production commences, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5. DELIVERY & RETURNS

5.1. Delivery dates and times are estimates only. The Company shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from late delivery. Time for delivery shall not be made of the essence.

5.2. Deliveries made on pallets are kerbside only via third-party pallet networks. The Buyer must ensure adequate assistance is available on site for unloading.

5.3. Correct delivery details (address, contact person, phone number) must be provided. Any diversion or re-delivery costs will be charged to the Buyer.

5.4. Inspection on Delivery:

  • The Buyer must check the goods’ description, quantity and condition at the time of delivery.
  • Any damage, defect or discrepancy must be clearly recorded on the delivery paperwork and supported with photographs.
  • In addition, notification must be made to the Company by email or telephone within 24 hours of delivery.

5.5. Acceptance by Installation:

  • Once goods have been cut, installed, or otherwise used, they are deemed to have been accepted by the Buyer as correct and in good condition.
  • No claims for visible damage, defects, discrepancies, or incorrect specification will be accepted once installation has commenced.

5.6. Exclusion of Consequential Costs:

The Company shall not be liable under any circumstances for costs relating to labour, fitting, installation, removal, sanding, oiling, levelling, or any other consequential or indirect costs. It is the Buyer’s sole responsibility to ensure the goods are correct prior to installation.

5.7. Returns of Non-Faulty Goods:

If the Buyer wishes to return non-faulty goods, notice must be given in writing (email or post) within 30 days of delivery. Returned goods must be unopened, in original packaging, and in resaleable condition. The Company will arrange collection, and all returns are subject to carriage charges. A 20% collection and restocking fee may apply for trade customers.

5.8. Refunds for returned goods (excluding carriage charges) will be processed within 30 days of receiving the notice of cancellation. Where goods were offered with “free delivery,” the standard delivery and collection costs will be deducted from the refund.

5.9. Exclusions: Bespoke/made-to-order products, custom finishes, reduced-to-clear items, discontinued items, and promotional offers are non-returnable, non-refundable, and non-exchangeable.

5.10. Statutory Rights: Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects the Buyer’s statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any applicable UK consumer protection legislation.
